New Jersey's Primary Transparency Website:
NJ Open Public Records Act website:
Note: the goal of "transparency" is that you should not have to fill out an application or pay a fee for information on how YOUR money is spent !

New Jersey is facing very serious financial shortfalls, and has passed several bills to "cap" spending. Now the "games" begin as everyone looks for loopholes to avoid the tough decisions that HAVE to be made to cut spending.
WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW:
1. Join the statewide effort toward community watch teams. Be part of this effort to have citizens monitor each municipality, each county and each independent authority - to reclaim government of, by and for THE PEOPLE -- NOT the unions, attorneys, vendors and special interests.
HERE'S HOW - Read and print out this short overview by John Krickus on how to hold local and county governments accountable.
2. ATTEND the next municipal government or county government public meeting or work session. Google these search terms: (town name), government
You'll find the website for your town, and it will list when and where the governing body meets. Just go, sit back, and see your local officials in action. Before the meeting, look for the Agenda either online or on a seat or table as you enter the meeting room. When the "Public" session is announced (click here for more information), go to the microcphone and express that you have become very concerned about rising costs in a difficult economy, and ask the governing body how they plan to meet the 2% cap on property tax increases recently made law in Trenton.
3. Visit the NJ TAX REVOLT.COM forums. This website is home to the tea party statewide effort to bring local government under control. Most of the information you could want, and connections to others who are also monitoring their local governments are all here in an easy-to-find format.

Morris Patriots Declaration of Principles: Click Here
Morris Patriots is working to make government at ALL levels more transparent, and smaller. The Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New Jersey both define LIMITED powers and authority. The same principle applies to County governments, Municipal governments and independent authorities and agencies.
This web page is focused on how YOU can learn more about these levels of government, and what they are doing.
We invite YOU to become part of Citizen Watch - an effort to keep an eye on what government at all levels is doing, and to help curb the endless growth of government.
