The Constitution of the United States (the second written social contract governing the 13 colonies) was signed in 1787, ratified in 1791, and produced the longest-lived government to have ever existed without radical changes; either by violent or non-violent means.
As Americans have witnessed abuses by the three branches of their civil government, talk has arisen that the U.S. Constitution needs to be amended to block such abuse.
With the publication of a proposal by Convention of States.com and the independently-written book by Mark Levin entitled "the Liberty Amendments," these discussions have spread.
On February 11, 2014, Morris Patriots hosted a forum discussing whether or not there should be a Convention of States, using Article V, which describes how the Constitution can be amended.
