Menendez RECALL  APPEAL

"The court will rule 'as quickly as prudently possible,' Appellate Judge Edwin H. Stern said.  And that ended today's arguments in Trenton, in the Menendez recall appeal.

Tea party groups trying to recall U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez argued that the State is preventing citizens from having their say, but the senator’s lawyer said any effort to remove the Senator would be unconstitutional.

NJ Conservative Party joins Conservative Party USA

CPAC - The Conservative Party USA has announced that the New Jersey Conservative Party has signed an affiliation agreement to join this growing national political party.  New Jersey became the 18th state to have an affiliated statewide Conservative Party.  [ New Link ]

Dick Morris has said that the battle will be won by the side that puts in the most effort.  Let it be the Patriots!!

More than 20 stallwarts braved the "Snowicane" and traveled by bus to join patriots from other states to protest the Democrat's health plan.

The President's "plan" is the Senate plan with several more threatening elements added.  It would establish government panels to define what treatments are cost-efficient for the elderly, at the same time it would cut $500 Billion from Medicare funding.  While initially income would balance costs (with taxes beginning immediately, but costs and services beginning in 2014), shortly thereafter its costs dramatically outpace its revenues.  (Surprise!)  There is no Tort Reform.  It expands government in hundreds of ways, and would force all Americans under the government control the progressives so seek.

Obama said the "Summit" set the stage for the Obama-Reid-Pelosi effort to push socialized medicine on all Americans using only 51 votes...

Make sure Congress knows America is watching - keep making those phone calls, sending those faxes and emails, and making appointments to meet with your representatives.  Whether you get an appointment or not, the fact that you are seeking one carries the point.  If you do get an appointment, let us know and we'll hook you up with others who can also attend!

NJ Senate votes 3 pension reform bills; unions go nuts !

The NJ State Senate on Tuesday passed three major bills (S-2, S-3 and S-4) that would eliminate defined-benefit penson plans for future part-time employees, change pension calculations to reduce pension values by at least 8.3% for future employees, and require all active employees (including teachers for the first time) to contribute at least 1.5% of their salary toward health benefits.

 Financial Disclosure & Transparency in NJ

    On Feb. 1, we testified in favor of S-708.  Sen. Pennacchio is planning amendments to extend this to ALL counties, municipalities, school districts and public authorities.

     In the General Assembly, Jay Webber, Alison Littell McHose and Gary Chiusano have introduced a similar measure, A146, with 9 co-sponsors AND also A158, with Upendra Chivukula also a prime sponsor, and 10 co-sponsors.

Morris Patriots endorses this legislation, which would be a major step forward in holding government accountable to 'We The People' (who pay for all things). Read our testimony, [here].

U.S. Senate Again Increases Debt

The U.S. Senate voted, Jan. 28, to boost the national debt ANOTHER $1.9 trillion - so that we now will owe $14.3 TRILLION.

President Obama complains that President Bush increased the debt from $4.1 trillion to $8.1 trillion - over 4 years.  In his FIRST year as President, Obama has now INCREASED the debt by $6.2 over the Bush debt.

OBAMACARE - looking for ways to do sneaky things unseen...

WHILE PELOSI, REID AND OBAMA SAID THEY DON'T NOW HAVE THE VOTES, ORDERS HAVE GONE OUT TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS OF NATIONAL HEALTH CARE -  WITH BROWN WINNING MASSACHUSETTS, THE DEMS ARE IN GREAT POLITICAL CRISIS . . . . BUT ANALYSTS THINK THE DEMS WILL DO ALL THEY CAN TO PUSH THIS THROUGH ANYWAY.  

On healthcare, SEIU and other UNION leaders won DEALS for themselves while all other workers get HIT HARD in more taxes - pushing the cost off to all other insureds (you and me).  The bill raises fees and taxes on:

• Drug manufacturers
• Nursing Homes
• Medical device makers
• States other than Nebraska for Medicaid
  

  The agreement also hits Drug Makers by increasing fees they'll have to pay (or decreasing reimbursements they would get) by $10 BILLION over 10 years ... beyond the $80 BILLION in concessions they agreed to in a White House back room last year in their "deal" with Obama for their endorsement of his plan.  Democrats want to hit up Nursing Homes beyond $14.6 BILLION in the Senate version. (get rid of those old folks)

   The UNIONS are having great success - the new agreement raises the tax thresholds for "caddilac" plans to $8900/yr. premium for singles and $24,000/yr. for families; dental and visions plans would not be counted; those thresholds would go even higher for "companies where the [UNION] work force is older" or "has more women."

  NJ REP. ROB ANDREWS (D-1) IS ONE OF THE CHIEF ARCHITECTS OF THE PLAN.  (He's up for election this year.)

PIRG Being Used in Door-to-Door Push for National Healthcare !

PATRIOTS are reporting "house calls" from college students who work for the PUBLIC INTEREST RESEARCH GROUP, indoctrinated to spread the union-Progressive line that "you need national health care."

You remember PIRG from its endless "Global Warming" / "Save the Enviornment!" door-to-door solicitations.  College students who make commissions on money collected "in the name of the environment..."  You can see the ads in the classifieds to attract them.  EVERY student who attends RUTGERS is forced to pay a student activity fee that helps fund PIRG.  Students get "community service" credit for doing PIRG's work.  Do some research on PIRG, and your blood will boil.  If students come to your door, ask for their business card.

BREAKING THE RULES    (SECRETLY)

Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) pointed out some rather astounding language in the Senate health care bill during floor remarks. First, he noted that there are a number of changes to Senate rules in the bill--and it's supposed to take a 2/3 vote to change the rules. And then he pointed out that the Reid bill declares on page 1020 that the Independent Medicare Advisory Board cannot be repealed by future Congresses:

What Happened on Dec, 15th in D.C. ...

Thousands of patriots traveled to Washington to urge Democrats to "Kill The Bill" - Obama/Reed/Pelosi-care.

At Sen. Robert Menendez's office, above, citizens await the senator's chief health aide. The crowd was determined and angry when told the Senator believes his support for the Reed bill, still being 'negotiated,' will improve health care.

At Senator Lautenberg's office, Capitol Police were called by a receptionist when visitors voiced dismay that the Senator, as always, was "unavailable" to meet with constituents.  In fact, he was enjoying breakfast with the President, who conveniently invited all Democrat senators to the White House so they could hide from angry voters.
